Ha ha, oh wow!

Let's break out the checklist and see what I accomplished:
• Ignoring blog for X amount of time: Completed.
• Taking the College Entrance exams: Completed.
• Engrossing myself in copious amounts of Youtube videos that wastes the day: Damn straight
• Talking with friends/family on Skype: Completed.
• "Learning" Tagalog and speaking: Completed.
• [sentence redacted]: Completed.
• Getting to writing this blog once more: Work in progress.

On part of watching youtube vids, it has mostly been cooking. In a psychological standpoint, I am filling the void of what was part of my life that was constant. So in layman's terms, I am getting my daily dose of mental placebo.
I miss the Food Network ;_;
While any sane being who tries to live the same lifestyle since my last post, would probably committed suicide on account that THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING INTERESTING in the area. Apart from house raiding robberies and people being murdered and tossed in some smuck's backyard; I have NOT left the premise. It's kinda like prison, minus the convicts trying to rape you, but add some freedom to go anywhere within the property's limits. An analogy would be house arrest. That's it.

Simple Pleasures of Life

So what have I experienced during my tenure here in the Philippines? Practically, a lot; good and bad. Can't complain since this is something I have to deal with for the next...4-5 years. I have come to terms of accepting things that is beyond my ability, even if I do rebel like a stubborn mule. Though, I missed some things back in the US from time to time, it aches my heart a little...
I guess I went a bit overboard with that...
(ಠ_ಠ)

"So what are the simple pleasures that you're experiencing?" That depends on the situation. In the afternoons, the steady breeze rolls by through the campus' rice fields. Over in the horizon is the mountain ranges and fluffy clouds that is blotched in the sky. Or walking in the midday sun, not  caring if you're going to end up with sunburn. Or maybe at night, the sounds of bullfrogs and crickets chirping while being slowly bitten by mosquitoes.* The dark sky that is illuminated with hundreds and thousands of stars, slowly revealing itself as a band of the Milky Way. These are the things that would calm a man's soul; an eerie wave of assurance while I'm left to ponder about my existence.

Among other things is conversing with relatives and neighbors while we eat, drink and sing in the laidback evening.

Next week is the examination and I hope...I really hope I can get in. Wish me luck...

The Language Barrier and History 101

It has reminded me of a story from the bible: The Tower of Babel. Don't know it? Here...I'll give you a nutshell version of the story...
God was looking down Earth and noticed people building a large tower in the City of Babel. He sent an angel to ask them what they were doing. The people responded that they wanted to build a tower to reach the "Heavens". Upon relaying the message to God, and being the omnipotent being Troll in the Universe, he misinterpreted it as their way to "force their way back into Heaven". Now bat-shit paranoid and grudging from the first incident (Adam & Eve), God decides to slap their shit in and shift into MAXIMUM OVERTROLL, creating languages. Upon doing so, the construction of the tower halted, as all the order could not be understood between people. Eventually, the tower collapsed and the city was in ruins.
Oh you sonofa...*shakes fist*
What does that have to do with me? The fact that I'm slowly learning the language and the date for the entrance exams are creeping in. Now I receive news that the questions WILL be in TagalogFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-  (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
For those who've played this...That's my interpretation on learning
a new language- GODDAMNIT, WHY CAN'T I GET IT RIGHT?!

I also hear that some of the questions will cover Philippine History. Which lead me to frantically read the entire article of Philippine History via Wikipedia. Also read about the Filipino-American War. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that this country became an independent one. However, if it weren't for a certain person *cough*Elwell Stephen Otis*cough* to make a Blunder-of-a-Century move by re-writing a proclamation by THE PRESIDENT, Philippines still would've been an independent but a commonwealth country. Every Filipino would automatically be US Citizens and speaking English- ARGH!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Excuse me while I clean the debris from all the table flipping...

Time Flies When You Have Fun

Last update was....Dec 10. Hooollllyyyy Shhhheeeiiiitt~! O_O

If you want an analogy on what blogging is to me; it's like maintaining a house plant and doing...well...a piss-poor job at keeping it alive.

All you had to do was update me... ;_;

"So what have I been doing?", you ask. This is what I have done since...
  1. Sleep
  2. Computer
Mind you, that only applied till Christmas time. Then that rolled by and...
  1. Party
  2. Rest from too much partying
Then after that, finally came the day before New Years Eve which I did the following...
  1. Hung out at the mall with cousins
  2. Head over to next town and stayed at Aunt's place
  3. Went swimming
  4. Went back home
  5. Set off firecrackers that would've made Kim Jong Il North Korea soo MAD Jelly that it would be considered ICBMs in their country
Secret North Korean photo of WMDs bought
from weapon depot in China labeled "SCUD Missile"
As for New Years resolution: I have none. Deal with it.
